I purchased this as a replacement for a Timex Camper which was also a great watch. This watch is heavier and larger than I expected but looks great and can be worn with everything from a t-shirt to a suit. The hands do not glow but the face is backlit, something i prefer because it’s easier to see when you need it. It’s simple and usable and it is the best watch I’ve seen in the price range that is a simple, modest, and sleek design. The case is well made as is the band. However, I have to keep the watch at the last hole in order to wear it at the appropriate tightness. So if you have a large wrist you may consider purchasing a replacement band. I wanted something I could wear with anything that wouldn’t get hurt if it got dropped in water and would hold up for years. So far this has been nothing but a great purchase and I would highly recommend it to anyone. On a side not I picked mine up for around $32 shipped on ebay so look around because I promise you can do better than the price listed on the timex website.

Wanted something inexpensive but nice looking .. something I could wear at work and outdoors .. this fits well. Face and band are a great size .. big enough for my wrist. Strap could be a little longer, but it works well.

To give a bit of insight as to where I’m coming from, let me preface this by saying that I own quite a few large dress watches. I bought this as an elegant “cheap” watch to wear while I work outside or during rigorous physical activity. Mainly I wanted a watch that looked good and wouldn’t make me cry if it got scratched or broke. This watch has definitely met those criteria. Unfortunately, my love if large faced watches makes this seem tiny on my wrists. The face is about the size of a quarter. The band is proportionally sized to the face. What struck me right away about the watch is that at night it is so loud. I placed it on my night-stand and tried to go to sleep. After twenty minutes I got up and looked for my nautica box. Seems absurd that my $30 watch is in a box for a $260 watch, but at least now I’ll sleep.

I love watches, but I find a lot of them to be too big on my wrist but this one is perfect! The metal and the fabric go perfectly together, and all my friends love it. I actually have a friend that bought two of them after I showed him the one I bought. So be prepared to be a trendsetter!
If there is a downside I would have to say the illumination. The illumination is fine in itself, but when it does light up it doesn’t show the marks for the minutes, only the hour. But that’s just me nit-picking. Definitely recommended for any young guy that’s just starting his watch collection.
