Esthetically, this Fossil Twist is simply stunning. Some time earlier, I got the black version, that is: black faceplate and croc band and I like it A LOT. But this steel and brown leather watch is just a knockout!

To begin with, the picture doesn’t come close to revealing its great looks. The appearance is much brighter and more silvery. Yet “champaigne” is a wonderfully apt description. It certainly isn’t brown as indicated in the product description.

The visible mechanics of the automatic seconds subidial is cool but the quartz-accuracy of the hour and minute hands, appealingly set off-center, is appreciated. The subdials for the date, day-of-week, and 24-hour indicator are in quite an attractive arrangement on the face. The size of the steel case and width of the supple brown leather band are just right, sizable but not too much.

A great watch to see and be seen in! Thanks, fossil. This is one of the greats.

Review by I. Harrold : Great Watch… not Shock resistant

This is a great watch that looks very classy and refined, yet casual. I have owned it for about a year now and enjoyed it while it worked. The only issue is that the winding mechanism and counter weight is susceptible to shock. My 12 month year got a hold of the watch while I was not watching (no pun intended) and after a few knocks on the coffee table it broke. I opened the watch to see about fixing it where upon I saw the small screws and shafts were broken that hold the winding counterweight. But I wouldn’t fault the watch explicitly as it more of a user error. But I would have expected more robustness, hence why I knocked it down one star to just 4. I would however buy it again… just keep it away from small children.

Firstly, the watch is not as it appears in the picture. I have been looking for a cream/light brown dial and the picture also says so, but got disappointed when I received the watch which is having a Dark Brown dial. Please change the picture.
Other than that, it is a very good deal in a reasonable price. Started loving this watch after few days.

I’d been coveting this watch for a while, and finally got it for myself as a birthday gift. The watch is very nice looking, and very solidly made. The size is bigger than other watches I’ve had in the past (the metal case sits up pretty boxy and tall), and I love that about it! The dial and the “exposed gears” are really nice looking, and I’ve gotten plenty of complements on it. The brown leather band is nice and thick, and looks nice. It’s a great watch for both dressy and casual occasions…and I wear it every day now.

The one thing I will mention is that the color is a little different than what is shown in the main product photo. As you can see in the great user-provided photos, the color of the background inside the case is a little bit more of a “darker gray” or maybe gunmetal(?) color than the light tan (what is described as, and I think of as “champagne”) shown in the main photo. Also the hands and gears, etc. are a little more silvery than the “goldish” tone in the main photo. All of that being said, the watch still looks great! And although I originally fell in love with the main product photo and colors…the true to life version and colors have grown on me, and I really like them just as much, if not more!

Overall, it’s a great watch, and I highly recommend it!
