This Diplomat Ebony Wood six watch winder with black leather interior is made especially for people who do not wear their automatic or self winding watch every day, or have more than 1, watch winders are available to store automatic watches and keep them wound. This is particularly advantageous if the watch had complex or perpetual calendars or moon phases. A watch winder is a device that can hold watches and moves them in circular patterns to approximate the human motion that otherwise keeps the self-winding mechanism working. An automatic self winding watch should be kept wound and running as much as possible to prevent its lubricants from congealing over time, which diminishes accuracy. This unit winds 6 watches at a time, and runs on included 110V-240V AC adapter, it also provides storage for 7 more watches, exterior is made of wood, interior is lined with soft leatherette and see through window is plexi-glass. This watch winder has 4 different program settings. Knob program settings: 1st stop: unit is off. 2nd stop: winder will rotate clockwise for 2 minutes and rest for 6 minutes. 3rd stop: winder will rotate counter-clockwise for 2 minutes and rest for 6 minutes. 4th stop: winder will rotate clockwise for 2 minutes, rest for 6 minutes then it will rotate counter-clockwise for 2 minutes, rest for 6 minutes. 5th stop: winder will rotate clockwise for 5 minutes then counter-clockwise for 5 minutes. This cycle will repeat continuously for 3 hours then rest for 9 hours. Please take a look at provided images

I originally ordered the Diplomat Cherry Wood Quad Watch Winder but was overwhelmed by the redness of the color. Amazon.com immediately accepted my request to return the unit and even arranged for UPS to pick it up at my home. I later saw this unit and knew it was exactly what I wanted. I ordered 2 each from Amazon.com on April 17 and used my temporary Prime Shopper status to have them shipped overnight for only $3.99 each. To my amazement the 2 units shipped from Indianapolis, IN on April 19 and were sitting at my front door in San Jose, CA by approximately 9:00 AM the next morning. Not only are these Diplomat watch winders very quiet and efficient but they make absolutely exquisite display cases for my watch collection. I have a number of automatic watches and have been using the watch winders for the past week. I don’t know what I love more. The quietness and efficiency in the way they work or how beautifully they display my watch collection. They definitely add another artistic dimension to my watch display. I can assure you I will be ordering another one soon.
Well, as I indicated in my earlier review, I did indeed add another Diplomat Ebony Wood Six Watch Winder to my collection. In fact, I actually added two but one had a defective motor and I had to return it. Wanted an exchange but there were none available at the time. Amazon, as usual, arranged for UPS pickup at my home and paid the return shipping. You just can’t beat that. As for the watch winders, they continue to hum along 24/7 keeping my watches wound, dust free and on display in the most exquisite display case you will ever find. When I compare what you get with the Diplomat Watch Winders at the price, the higher end watch winders can’t hold a candle to the Diplomats. This truly is a great product.

This is a fine piece! After two months using it, I am extremely happy with this winder.
It is very well crafted, it is VERY silent, has different functions to match different watch mechanisms, I love its dark ebony finish, it fits perfectly in the shelf space I have available in my closet, plus it has a lock (which the 4-watch winder it is replacing, did not have).
Not only keeps up to 6 automatic watches working and nicely displayed, but I have extra space to safely store my dress quartz watches (up to 7) separately from my casual and sports ones.
I purchased this item from another site because it was not available at Amazon when I decided to buy, but just added it back to my Amazon Wishlist, hoping to puchase a second one soon!
